Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and a businessman is the vice president. Cheney known as a popular figure on the scene of Washington politics has worked under four presidents of the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush has nominated Cheney to be his vice president running mate in July the year 2000. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom judgement, experience, and judgment. Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of a President, he was a member of Congress and was Secretary of Defense. He is a man with integrity, who has the respect of all Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney is of the opinion that his work as a member of the Bush administration is to serve as an open and discrete adviser. When he accepted the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney stated that he looks at serving alongside one who can work to achieve his goals by working across the political aisle and working with political opponents in good faith and common goals. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941 the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. In the age of thirteen Richard and his family moved out of Nebraska and moved to Casper which was where his dad worked as head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
